- ➤ Kay Ruhstaller, CEO of the Family Resource Center, was named the 2025 ATHENA Leadership Award winner on Sept. 3 in Stockton—she is recognized for her leadership in mentoring local women and supporting community programs. - ➤ Last weekend, the third annual Seafood and Soul Festival took place at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds in Stockton. - ➤ Stockton police said that on Tuesday just after 6 p.m. near Doray Court and Pixie Drive, a man in a foot pursuit dropped his loaded handgun and tried to retrieve it, so officers fired their weapons and he was taken to a local hospital with his condition unknown—investigators from multiple agencies are now examining the case. - ➤ Federal agents raided a Sacramento Home Depot in July and arrested 11 individuals; court records show four had criminal histories and an 18-year-old asylum seeker was held in Stockton before being sent back to Sacramento—officials say more raids are coming. KCRA

- ➤ Tonight, the Stockton City Council will vote on removing Patricia Barrett from the Climate Action Plan Advisory Committee and replacing her with Kristine Williams following Mayor Christina Fugazi's request. The council will also vote on its third update to the grand jury report that criticized the 209 Times for allegedly undermining the local democratic process — the open session starts at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
