Good morning, Stockton.
🏛️ Government
On Monday, high tides forced Stockton's Smith Canal Gate to close for the first time since its opening last year and reopened around midnight after tides receded, protecting roughly 8,000+ property owners and potentially reducing future flood insurance costs.
The action follows significant rainfall and maintained essential levee safety measures.
