Good morning, Stockton.

California State University Stanislaus opened Willow Hall at its Stockton campus on Thursday, March 26 with modern medical labs and classrooms for up to 2,000 extra students.

The $54 million facility (state-funded) is designed to help train nurses, social workers and health professionals to serve the local community.

Workers rallied outside Dameron Hospital Friday morning as a local union accused the hospital of planning to outsource jobs amid stalled labor talks (a candidate for District 5 City Council also claimed wrongful disqualification).

Stockton's 5th annual Crush Colon Cancer 5K walk and run unites runners, walkers, survivors and families to raise awareness of early colorectal cancer detection as participants learn about screenings starting at age 45.

Organized by founder Shawna Brown, the event now features health clinics + community resources in downtown Stockton.
