- ➤ University of the Pacific announced on April 1 that its longtime president, Don DeRosa, died at 85 in his North Carolina home. He led efforts to modernize the Stockton campus with new academic and athletic facilities, and the school plans a celebration of life at Faye Spanos Concert Hall. The Stockton Record
