  • The driver of a corrections patrol vehicle broke a bone after his vehicle hit a tree in Lockeford on April 10—CHP was dispatched at 12:38 p.m. to Highway 12 and Jack Tone Bypass Road, and the cause of the crash remains unclear.  KCRA

  • An 18-year-old suspect was arrested Tuesday in Stockton for the fatal shooting of Justice Booth in a parking lot at Oak Park and was booked into San Joaquin County Jail pending his court appearance on Thursday — detectives are still searching for a second suspect.  Stocktonia

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Assemblymember Marc Berman reintroduced a bill that will require every public high school to offer a computer science course by the 2029-30 school year—aiming to cover the 48% of schools that currently do not offer any such classes.   • A crew from Standard Demolition took down a 150-ft-tall, 500,000-gallon water tower at Flora Street and Buena Vista avenue in Stockton yesterday.
