  • Yesterday, dozens gathered at the Cathedral of the Annunciation in Stockton to mourn Pope Francis with prayers and a special mass; parishioners remembered his service (12 years) as pope and noted his bold leadership helped renew the church’s spirit. CRIME NEWS

  • On Sunday, Stockton police arrested a 17-year-old in north Stockton over the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Andrew Majewski, who was shot Saturday afternoon in the Valley Oak District and booked into San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall on homicide charges.  Stocktonia
  • A Stockton man suspected of fatally shooting his wife at a party on B Street was arrested Sunday morning in San Diego County — officers stopped a red Ford Explorer tied to him as he was believed to be heading toward Mexico.  Stocktonia
  • Antonio Cuellar was sentenced to 25 years to life for the 2019 murder of his 18-year-old girlfriend Andrea Cervantes Alejandre in Tracy—he fled to Mexico before being arrested in late 2023 and extradited in 2024.  Stocktonia

  • San Joaquin Valley residents, including many in Stockton, already facing Medicaid changes, may see their CalFresh benefits drop by about 20%—a move part of a proposed $230 billion federal cut to SNAP that could affect up to 1.3 million households.
