- ➤ Stockton man Wesley Brownlee, accused of seven murders, one attempted murder, and several firearms violations, pleaded not guilty in court where his mental competency was reviewed and his next hearing is set for June 9 + if convicted he could face the death penalty while he remains in jail. - ➤ Police responded on Wednesday at 12:37 p.m. to a shooting at the Sherwood Mall parking lot on the corner of Pacific and West Yokuts avenues in Stockton where they found a man shot in the leg—he was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive while officers review footage and interview witnesses to track down the shooter.
