  • A 50-year-old man was fatally shot Monday night in Stockton, police said — no additional details have been provided.  KCRA
  • The '48 Hours' episode revisited the 1979 killing of Catina Rose Salarno on the University of the Pacific campus, where her ex-boyfriend Steven Burns shot her and was denied parole again after 45 years in prison—her family still fights to keep him behind bars.  The Stockton Record
  • A man cleaning his firearms accidentally shot himself and another person on Friday night at a residence on the 8400 block of Kelley Drive in Bear Creek District — both 22 were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and charges have been referred to the district attorney’s office.  Stocktonia

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On May 5, the CDFW released 3.5 million Chinook salmon smolts + provided 10 million salmon eggs to aid a federal hatchery in boosting declining salmon numbers in the Sacramento River head. Recreational fishing for Chinook salmon will be allowed on June 6 and 7 with a limit of 7,000 fish.  The Stockton Record
