- ➤ San Joaquin County supervisors approved a three-year extension that will let Dignity Health manage San Joaquin General Hospital from July 1 to June 30, 2028— the deal is worth $5.7M and follows improvements in patient care since the original contract started in 2022. - ➤ Governor Gavin Newsom proposed fast-tracking a $20 billion Delta tunnel project to boost water storage, but San Joaquin County officials and local groups opposed the plan due to risks to Delta farms and fish—lawmakers urged alternatives such as strengthening levees and expanding water recycling.
