- ➤ Stockton Police Department responded to a shooting on the 2400 block of East Main Street around 11:30 p.m. Friday and transported a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to a hospital—detectives have launched a homicide investigation with no suspect information yet released. KCRA

- ➤ Carolyn Wooddall, a Sacramento author, wrote a new children's book about a dog's journey from shelter to home to encourage adoption and support Stockton shelters through Hard Luck Animal Welfare Advocates—she described the book as a love letter to dedicated shelter workers.
