- ➤ Stockton officials said that only fireworks carrying the State Fire Marshal’s safe and sane seal can be sold and used in the city, with sales by 30 nonprofit operators beginning noon on June 28. Local agencies will work with police and fire departments to enforce the law and issue fines for violations — $1,000 for a first offense, $2,000 for a second, and $3,000 for further offenses — to help keep residents safe.
