  • Two pedestrians were injured in a hit-and-run crash on Thursday night on Poplar Street near Madison Street in Stockton — emergency crews responded just after 9 p.m. and took them to a local hospital as the vehicle fled.  KCRA

  • Genova Bakery, one of Stockton’s oldest businesses at 107 years, may move after rising crime has raised safety issues such as bullet holes and daytime prostitution — owner Tim Canevari said the local police increased patrols but a permanent fix is still not found.  KCRA
  • The Nintendo Switch 2, which costs $449, became available on June 5 and is expected to sell out quickly due to limited retail inventory—local Stockton retailers include GameStop — 915 W. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At a City Council meeting today, Stockton Vice Mayor Jason Lee said he almost resigned because City Hall’s environment is too toxic and he no longer likes politics—he urged that staff be held accountable to change the culture.   • Some Stockton residents demanded firings after interim city manager Steve Colangelo hired Lathrop city manager Stephen Salvatore as a consultant for $11,000 a month without council approval—residents raised concerns at Tuesday’s City Council meeting about a costly management overhaul.
