- ➤ The Stockton Animal Shelter is offering supplies & support to foster families to help care for the triple number of kittens in the shelter who need more socialization and attention. - ➤ South Stockton’s McKinley Park and Pool reopens after a $15 million renovation that brings a new swimming pool, play area and sports fields. - ➤ A driver died after his vehicle crashed into a light pole and caught fire on Monday afternoon near West Lane and East Swain Road in Stockton — police said the intersection was closed for investigation and advised drivers to take alternate routes. KCRA

- ➤ Stockton police arrested 21 suspects, including three homicide suspects linked to murders from March through May, during Operation White Noise—22 firearms and illegal drugs were confiscated in the ongoing investigation. The Stockton Record
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Cal Fire reported that a vegetation fire burned over three acres near the 24000 block of North McIntire Road in Clements on June 16, threatening structures around Camanche Reservoir. Fire crews stopped its forward progress as they worked to contain the blaze. KCRA
- ➤ Cal Fire suspended residential burn permits in Alpine, Amador, El Dorado, Sacramento & San Joaquin counties just after midnight Monday due to warming temperatures, dry winds and abundant annual grass growth. The agency advises residents to safely dispose of landscape debris like branches, yard waste & leaf piles and to clear dead vegetation from at least 100ft around structures to reduce fire risk. KCRA
