  • PG&E's planned public safety power shutoff in San Joaquin started Thursday and will continue until Saturday, affecting 985 customers. Neighbors in Tracy said the outage has raised worries over food spoilage, charging essential devices, and water access as warm temperatures worsen the situation.  KCRA
  • After nearly a year of planning, Stockton’s Swenson Park opened The Mini — a new 18‑hole miniature golf course that held a soft launch on June 13 and will have its grand opening later this summer. The course provides putters and golf balls for all ages and charges $15 on weekdays and $18 on weekends.  Stocktonia

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • CHP reported that a big rig crash caused the shutdown—drivers are advised to take alternate routes—at the southbound I-5 to eastbound Highway 120 interchange near Lathrop last night.  KCRA

CRIME NEWS

  • A domestic dispute resulted in the death of a 35-year-old man on Tuesday at 12:40 p.m. near south California Street in Stockton when police responded to a battery incident—detectives are investigating the case.  Stocktonia

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On June 19, 15,690 customers in San Joaquin County lost power between Manteca and Lathrop after an unplanned PG&E outage; utility crews worked to restore service and PG&E expected power to return by 7 p.m. Manteca officials confirmed the issue was not tied to planned public safety shutoffs — crews continue to identify the cause.  KCRA

HEALTH NEWS

  • Sacramento County health officials reported a measles case in an unvaccinated child who returned from international travel and was treated at Mercy San Juan Medical Center from 5:11 to 9:45 p.m.—the child is now recovering at home. San Joaquin County recorded no new cases since March 2024 and maintains high vaccination rates, and officials urge residents to keep their shots up to date.  Stocktonia
