Good morning, Stockton.

Stockton re-entry service workers are helping people coming out of prison learn new ways to live—Antonio Hernandez said their strong passion gives hope for leaving gang violence behind.

They plan to support community members as they rebuild their lives.

In Season in north Stockton is a local market and nursery that began as a small café and plant shop and now offers organic produce, rare California plants, and a public garden area.

The family-run business, managed by the Mizes for nearly two decades (who also host community classes and local artisanal goods), honors the legacy of co-owner Eric Firpo by expanding its native plant stock and local ties.

City HR Director Rosemary Rivas and Deputy Director Maya Reft updated the Council Audit Committee on the ongoing payroll system overhaul, noting the payroll team reduced CalPERS errors from 700—900 to 207 while still addressing outdated pay codes and paper timecards in field departments. Council members commended the progress and urged continued efforts to further improve the system.
