  • Stockton-based Applied Aerospace secured a contract to build critical control surfaces — ailerons, flaps and elevators — for the new firefighting aircraft DHC-515 on its 25-acre campus. The project comes as officials prepare for a busy wildfire season.  Stocktonia

  • Stockton Unified School District board member AngelAnn Flores faces three felony counts for unauthorized credit card spending and a false insurance claim—alleged misuse linked to political retaliation—and the trial will resume today in courtroom 6D with further testimony on financial oversight practices.  Stocktonia

  • The Stockton Art League is hosting Creative Clash, a free live art tournament at Goodwin Gallery—applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on June 25 for artists 18 and older.   • Three months after announcing their new name, the Stockton Cheladas are now playing at Banner Island Ballpark on Sundays as part of Copa de la Diversión that celebrates Latino heritage.   • Stockton officials ended Lathrop City Manager Stephen J. Salvatore’s consulting contract that supported interim City Manager Steve Colangelo’s transition as Salvatore voluntarily waived part of his $11,000 monthly fee—officials said the move clarifies facts amid misinformation about the arrangement.   • Stockton City Council will meet Tuesday to vote on proposals for millions in spending on park upgrades, street repairs, affordable housing, police safety improvements, and tax audits — plans that include securing new insurance to protect the city.
