CRIME NEWS

  • Two Stockton brothers — Hector Perez, 34, and Flavio Perez, 29 — were indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of conspiracy and wire fraud after an FBI probe found they used fake invoices to defraud four factoring companies of over $1.8 million from May 2018 to September 2020.  The Stockton Record
  • Stockton police arrested resident Lucio Carrillo, 37, on June 19 on suspicion of felony arson and vandalism after a three-alarm fire decimated the historic Commercial Hotel on East Main Street on June 6.  Stocktonia

  • Visionary Home Builders held its groundbreaking ceremony for the La Passeggiata affordable housing project on American Street & Miner Avenue in downtown Stockton on June 26.   • Stockton police officials presented four options for two substations in District 6 while rejecting a plan to locate one in Fire Station 5 due to cost concerns.
