  • Stockton held its first Gamer Festival at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds, where fans played vintage video games and joined in tournaments—drawing local collectors and visitors from Tracy. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Yesterday morning, Stockton Unified School District held a back-to-school event at Weber Institute that gave free school supplies and backpacks to 500 students as families lined up around a city block—Superintendent Dr. Michelle Rodriguez greeted everyone and offered popsicles and paletas to add fun to the day. The event is set to become an annual tradition to support students as they begin the school year.  KCRA
  • Stockton teenagers Alejandra Garibay Ordaz and Julissa Nuñez were named recipients of the Women in California Leadership Minerva Scholarship — a $3,000 award aimed at supporting their educational goals. Their selection will be formally recognized on July 29 at the Board of Supervisors meeting.  Stocktonia

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Boyd Mayo, a former Stockton police officer and Marine veteran who was medically retired after suffering injuries, shared how life quieted down and his struggles with depression after service.
