Good morning, Stockton.

Stockton police reported that in the first half of 2025, robberies dropped 25.8%, burglaries fell 45.5%, and auto thefts declined 35% while larcenies and thefts dropped only 0.62%+ officers said the high volume of thefts makes large percentage changes difficult despite ongoing efforts through business watch and tip programs.

Stockton area residents are invited to share back-to-school photos & describe what their student is excited about as school districts kick off the 2025-26 school year; submissions may be featured on TV via KCRA 3's coverage.

Stockton City Council will hold a meeting today starting with a closed session at 3 p.m. — the council will consider appointing a new city manager and reviewing employee performance.

The public session at 5:30 p.m. will address an infrastructure grant, emergency police trucks and updates on housing projects for homeless Stocktonians.
