  • Local BBQ owner Don King has been fighting Stage 4 B-cell lymphoma since May while his family and staff keep Fat City Brew & BBQ running at 1740 Pacific Ave. A fundraiser held last month raised over $14.3k—support showing Stockton’s care—while he continues treatment.  Stocktonia
  • Today, Olive Arnold—a Central Valley business owner and mother from Sacramento—received a refurbished Mazda CX5 from Fabian’s Collision Center in Stockton thanks to a donation by Allstate insurance as part of the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides program. CRIME NEWS

  • Adrian Ledesma, 19, died after being fatally shot just after midnight Monday in Stockton's Caldwell Park—where a dispute between two groups was reported—and police are searching for a suspect while a 17-year-old victim remains stable.  Stocktonia
  • CHP's K9 Hanks led officers to a speeding Nissan on I-5 near Thornton at 6:50 p.m. on Thursday, where they found five plastic bags with suspected fentanyl-laced pills and other items—resulting in the arrest of 26-year-old Christopher Perez.  Stocktonia

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Stockton residents expressed frustration after waiting nearly three hours as a city council meeting delayed key agenda items including the appointment of an interim city manager and a call for an investigation into city spending. Many had lined up early and when the meeting started at 8:30 p.m., Mayor Christina Fugazi removed the appointment item—escalating public anger over the delays.  KCRA
  • City Attorney Lori Asuncion underwent a performance review in Tuesday's closed session after Councilmember Brando Villapudua alleged delays in communication and a lack of coordination—if the review reveals deficiencies, she may be dismissed.  The Stockton Record
