ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters from Tracy, Lathrop, Manteca, Stockton and the Defense Logistics Agency battled a four alarm vegetation fire in the 31000 block of South Tracy Boulevard on Thursday night as barns, stables and livestock enclosures caught fire with livestock blocking roadways—high winds fanned the flames. - ➤ Stockton police wrote 51 tickets and made arrests at 78 smoke shops—citing sales to minors and operating without a license—to address City Council concerns that the shops offer products too attractive to kids. Stocktonia
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ California officials reported that invasive mute swans have rapidly increased in wetlands near Grizzly Island Wildlife Area and threaten native species in the Delta — a measure that passed the Assembly is now pending in the Senate to let hunters and landowners reduce their numbers.
