- ➤ San Joaquin County sheriff's boating unit is boosting patrols on the Delta to keep waterways safe and prevent boating under the influence as Labor Day weekend approaches; Deputy Sheriff John Canepa said the effort follows 20 BUI arrests last year—officers will educate boaters and enforce laws to help everyone return home safely.
