CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 25-year-old Rio Vista man confessed to six sexual assaults in Stockton, Thornton, Sacramento, Isleton and Elk Grove—authorities said he was linked to the attacks after a weapons arrest on July 3 and DNA evidence from a January incident helped secure his identification. Stocktonia
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ An investigation by Stocktonia found that spending on New City Hall grew a lot—three main contracts rose from about $44.5 million to roughly $62 million with one nearly quadrupling its cost because a rule lets city staff raise funds without a full City Council vote. City officials approved nine changes while spending increased 33 times, and many in Stockton worry about the lack of oversight. Stocktonia
