- ➤ Bear Creek High School held a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday to open new agricultural science classrooms funded by a grant that will let students learn practical skills for local jobs and college. The new spaces connect classroom lessons directly to hands-on work in the region. KCRA

- ➤ Remnants of Tropical Storm Mario brought thunderstorms and flash flood warnings to interior Southern and Central California on Thursday—heavy rain hit parts of the Desert Southwest as the system moved north, and scattered showers are affecting the Valley today with brief gusty winds in the Foothills and Sierra. - ➤ On September 15, Stockton’s Council Audit Committee questioned hiring practices in the new OPTIC division after officials revealed employees were appointed without a competitive review and received high salaries—Director Rosemary Rivas said the process did not follow standard job posting procedures.
