Text messages warning of package problems or unpaid tolls are part of a growing scam that seeks personal data, and Consumer Reports says these messages can trick Stockton residents into giving out sensitive information.

Stockton locals are advised not to click on unexpected links — instead, check directly with the carrier or toll agency if a delivery or bill is expected.
