  • Over a hundred Stockton residents attended a portrait dedication at Delta College’s forum last Saturday honoring Filipina American historian Dawn Mabalon, who died in 2018—her portrait by artist Mel Vera Cruz features Stockton’s Little Manila Historic Site to mark her legacy in preserving local history.  Stocktonia

  • Brian Galle, a law professor at UC Berkeley, said the new law that stops taxing tips is a bad idea—he doubts it will help California workers as expected.  Stocktonia

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • California will enforce a new law in 2026 that requires chain restaurants with 20 or more locations to list major allergens such as milk, eggs, shellfish, and tree nuts on their menus. Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the bill—designed to help protect diners with food allergies.  Stocktonia
