- ➤ Stockton will host the 2025 California Economic Summit at Adventist Health Arena from Oct. 21 to 23, where business, community and labor leaders will meet to discuss building a resilient economy through shared funding for climate resilience, workforce training and youth engagement in emerging sectors. - ➤ Protest organizers for the No Kings rally in Stockton and other San Joaquin County cities are planning peaceful events on Saturday but worry that federal agents — acting harshly — may provoke problems. - ➤ The Stockton Animal Shelter closed for two weeks after a case of strep zoo was found — officials say the shelter will stop accepting stray dogs and pausing adoptions until it disinfects the building and reopens on Nov. 1. Stocktonia

Gavin Newsom announced that state-branded insulin glargine pens will be sold at pharmacies starting Jan 1 for $11 each — part of the CalRx effort to lower drug prices for Californians with diabetes.
