- ➤ The University of the Pacific announced a multiyear deal with the San Francisco 49ers that offers Stockton students access to internships and career workshops. - ➤ Today a new activated crosswalk signal using high intensity lights has been installed at Pershing Avenue and Rose Street to reduce speeding and improve pedestrian safety. Councilmember Mario Enriquez said the device now slows drivers from 50 mph and 60 mph to between 30 mph and 40 mph, while police have enforced traffic laws with 44 stops and six impounded vehicles.
