Good morning, Stockton.

On November 22, San Joaquin County hosted the 26th annual Adoption Saturday at the courthouse in downtown Stockton where 28 children joined 17 families during the ceremony.

Judge Michael Mulvihill and child welfare director Craig Pedrucci oversaw the event—helping children find their forever homes.

On Wednesday, an 11-year-old named Jerusha Fitzgerald activated the new high-intensity crosswalk at Pershing Avenue and Rose Street, allowing residents to safely cross to Victory Park and the Haggin Museum.

Local groups and leaders long pushed for this change, and the installation was funded through a Highway Safety Improvement Program grant — a key step for neighborhood safety.

Three pest control companies that improperly disposed of hazardous waste and failed to secure customer records have agreed to pay over $3.1 million to settle a civil complaint from multiple district attorneys’ offices—this settlement also requires the firms to implement a five-year plan for third-party waste audits and improved disposal practices.
